In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Mother

Celebrating a Life of Love and Dedication

Our cherished mother, Mary Ann Carollo Crocker, has gone to her eternal resting place to be with her heavenly Father. She departed this world peacefully on November 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Her Life

Born in Slidell, LA on December 11, 1939, to Russell “Cy” Carollo and Ruby Fogg Carollo, she was the second of five daughters. Mary Ann was raised at the home on the corner of Carey and Robert Street in Old Towne. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Slidell High School graduating with honors in 1957. She discovered a love for music at an early age, studied the piano and organ, and began playing at church at 12 years old. She also had a beautiful voice and in her 20s, starred in South Pacific at Slidell Little Theater. Her extraordinary office skills and outgoing personality provided the perfect mix for her jobs as executive assistant at law firms, accounting firms, NASA, to name a few, but her love was always music. When she moved to Morgan City, LA in 1975, she was organist and music teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School. She also built a thriving piano school and taught as many as 125 students a week. She played at 8 other churches over the years and was one of the greatest fundraisers the city had ever known, packing boxes of food and gifts for hundreds of people every year. After spending 30 years in Morgan City, Mary Ann moved to Florida in 2005 when she was hired as music director for St Thomas Aquinas Church and School in Saint Cloud. She also continued giving piano lessons until 2020. Over the years, she composed many original songs for weddings, school and church programs, and more. Mary Ann touched countless lives with her compassion, generosity, and talent. Her gentle guidance, infectious laughter, and caring spirit were a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Mary Ann is survived by her 2 daughters, Karen (David) Ledet and Jill Crocker; 4 grandchildren, Jamie (David) Ledet Betz, Michael (Tina) Kidder, Brady (Kelly) Ledet and Kayla Maupin Reis; and 8 great-grandchildren Emma, Kaylee, Audrey, Savannah, Avery, Katherine “Kit”, Cash and Luke.
